Asset Protection Manager

The Store Asset Protection Manager is responsible for administering the Asset Protection and shortage control programs for their store. The Store Asset Protection Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding the stores shortage goals. This individual works in an independent manner and guides the store and Asset Protection Store Associates in investigations, training and addressing shortage related issues. The Store Asset Protection Manager is the primary communicator between the store and the Regional Asset Protection Manager on specific issues and concerns.

Essential Functions:

Ensures programs to prevent and detect internal theft are followedDirects/assists store with investigations, interviews and case procedureRegularly reviews Asset Protection exception reports, and all other applicable reportsReviews cash discrepancies to keep store within allowable guidelinesAssists and directs store management for compliance with company policy and procedureProficient in covert camera installationEnsures programs to deter and prevent external theft are followedPromotes associate awareness through support of all customer approach programsEnsures that all associates receive Asset Protection awareness trainingEnsures that Traditions of Excellence material is distributed properlyEnsures training standards for associates regarding emergency procedures; robbery, fire, etc.Actively participates in shortage reduction programHas working knowledge of high shortage departmentsEnsures proper follow up regarding implementation of store shortage reduction plansAssists store in developing action plansMonitors and reviews paperwork systems and procedures to prevent shortage through errorsTrains individuals (store manager, ASM’s etc.) on utilization and application of paperwork reportsOversees store shortage committees for meeting compliance and effectivenessEnsures store follows up on price accuracy initiativesInterviews all Asset Protection candidates. Conducts and supervises training for Asset Protection associates on a continual basis. Provides direction for Asset Protection associatesEnsures all Asset Protection related activities and incidents are documented and communicated in a timely manner. Provides Regional Asset Protection Manager and Store Manager with current reports and information

Education / Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience:

Two year college degree and/or two years retail Asset Protection experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

Familiar with standard PCs and business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.)Ability to operate standard phone, computer, calculator and other business machines

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travelAbility to perform some lifting (25-50 lbs)Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds and work at heightsAbility to operate photographic and video equipment
