As a Valuations Specialist within Campbell Global, you will be responsible for delivering timely and precise timber investment analysis. This includes the valuation of timberland properties, acquisition underwriting analysis, technical forest planning, and economic analysis of management alternatives in timberland investments. Utilizing CG’s Timber Investment Model and related valuation tools, you will evaluate potential acquisition opportunities, manage properties, and handle dispositions. You will collaborate with various teams across the company, including the Acquisitions, Operations, and Portfolio Management teams.
Job Responsibilities
Create and maintain valuation models using CG’s Timberland Investment Model software, including periodic model updates to support quarterly update reports and other reports as requested. Knowledge of financial and valuation methods is essential.Provide review and assessment of third-party appraisals that are conducted periodically on assets under management.Provide valuation analysis for dispositions of all sizes.Develop acquisition valuation models along with executive summary materials to internal and external audiences. Work with CG’s Acquisition team to meet timelines and assure high underwriting standards.Support in development of forest planning models for acquisitions and assets under management using harvest scheduling software.Conduct analysis and review of regional operating and economic assumptions underpinning valuation models for CG’s core investment regions (Australasia, U.S. and LatAm) with a focus on the U.S.Develop executive summary materials to present investment analytics to internal and external audiences.Support the continued enhancement of CG’s proprietary planning and valuation tools, resources, and reporting systems.Actively participate within the organization to ensure all timberland management investment services meet or exceed client commitments.Represent Campbell Global at all levels, maintaining positive public relations.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Advanced degree in Forestry, Natural Resources or closely related field; and a minimum of five years working experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Demonstrated experience in timberland financial analysis and modeling.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in CG’s core investment regions including an understanding of forest product markets, inventory, forest growth and yield, forest operations and silvicultural management regimes.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment across multiple disciplines and across multiple locations. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.Demonstrates excellent organizational, time, and prioritization management skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Experience with harvest scheduling software and methods. A demonstrated background with Remsoft’s Woodstock suite of tools is strongly preferred.Experience designing and writing SQL queries and functions from relational databases.Knowledge and aptitude in a structured programming language such as R, Python, etc. is a strong plus.Demonstrated background in carbon-focused measurements and protocols is a plus.
