The opportunity is to join our International Global Liquidity Portfolio Management team as part of the trading desk in London working as a Portfolio Manager.

The position requires a strong interest in European and global fixed income markets, good interpersonal and technical skills, keen attention to detail, and comfort with making decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Most importantly, the job requires a desire to develop deep expertise in this market sector and a passion for delivering superior investment results for GL’s clients.

Job Summary 

J.P. Morgan Global Liquidity is one of the largest managers of institutional money market funds in the world, with dedicated investment professionals located around the globe.  GL offers best-in-class investment solutions that span a broad range of currencies, risk levels and durations, designed to meet our clients’ specific operating, reserve, and strategic cash management needs.  Currently, GL manages approximately $X billion in money market mutual funds and $X billion in ultra short-term fixed income strategies including funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts.

Job responsibilities

Work as part of the PM team to help formulate and implement investment strategy for the European money market mutual funds. Help facilitate activities such as cash management, portfolio and risk monitoring, and trade execution and posting.  Work closely with Client Advisors and Investment Specialists to communicate strategy, objectives and performance to internal partners and external clients.  Collaborate with global credit research team, independent risk and other key stakeholders to support idea generation, understand key risk factors and drive portfolio analysis.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Proven ability to successfully work in a team environment and collaborate across groups. Ability to prioritize tasks, operate in an efficient manner and make decisions in a fast-paced trading environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of short-tenor fixed income markets and securities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Proficient in Bloomberg, Microsoft Office and trading and portfolio management systems (such as Tradeweb and MarketAxess) is a plus but not required. CFA or advanced degree a plus but not a requirement.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
