Assembly Production Manager

This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose

The Assembly Production (APU) Manager directs all activities of manufacturing in the Assembly, Formation and EOL departments and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing activities to ensure production efficiency, maximize production output, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This critical role requires a results-driven leader experienced in lean methodologies, team development, and data-driven decision-making. The Assembly APU Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, such as Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance, and Engineering to align operational goals with broader organizational objectives. This role reports to the Plant Manager.

This pivotal role involves overseeing plant production, spearheading employee training and development, and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives and standardized procedures As an APU Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement Drives world-class processes in the areas of EHS, developing a solid safety culture within the plant to achieve an accident-free work environment, reducing Blood Lead Levels, providing prompt and effective action to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions as they become apparent This position is accountable for all manufacturing activities and personnel to achieve production output, minimizing downtime, improving OEE and driving ongoing improvement while optimizing the manufacturing process for increased productivity and driving positive manufacturing variances Demonstrate servant leadership principles, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging workplace. Develops and engages with all employees to develop a favorable employee relations environment; work with staff members on their personal growth and development goals to ensure employees feel encouraged and motivated to contribute at their full potential to foster a high-performance culture Actively participate in process/equipment/automation improvements and/or capital expenditure, investment, planning and execution Manage department expense budgets with appropriate accounting information and support. Participate in the business planning and budgeting process. Develop short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies. Reduce scrap, improve Direct Productivity (DP), standardize operations on all shifts, improve First Pass Yield, sustain 5s and lean processes, foster quality, lean, and safety culture, improve accountability, formalize training and qualification process, train all team members, develop succession plan within each shift Establishes and maintains policies/procedures and adherence with IATF 16949/ISO9001 This position may require occasional overtime and travel. Qualifications

1.Bachelor’s degree in operations management or equivalent experience in a high performing manufacturing organization

2.5-8 years of progressive functional/leadership experience, including manufacturing/production management roles with a proven ability to lead and develop high performing teams in a complex 24/5 and 24/7 plant operations

3.Extensive experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and problem-solving techniques

4.Lean / six sigma background preferred (PDCA, DMAIC, A3, 8D, SIPOC)

5.Strong leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and people

6.Knowledge of and experience using TPM and autonomous maintenance methodologies

7.Thorough working knowledge of MES, MRP/ERP, QMS and data analytic tools

8.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with excellent Excel, Outlook, Viso, Teams and PPT skills, required

9.Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting

10.Must be well organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks in a controlled manner.
