Assembly Operator Lead 1st Shift

We have an opportunity for an Assembly Operator Lead to join our White Bear Lake, MN location. You will be responsible for ensuring the production flow in assigned work areas and processes. Performs initial troubleshooting identification and resolution. Responsible for coaching, on-the-job training, equipment escalation, materials coordination, line communication, work assignments, 5S audits, and safety inspections. This position works closely with Production Management, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Quality, Machine Shop, R&D, Engineering, and the Warehouse Departments.
You will:
Conducts start-up meetings which include leading stretches, conducting safety talks, issuing daily work assignments, and providing SQDCC updates during Gemba reviewProvides support to the Production Supervisor and reports any performance/attendance concerns as applicableMaintains accurate hour by hour charts and updates MDI board daily at end of shiftProperly escalates equipment failure, Material issues to appropriate personnelDrives a continuous improvement culture through employee engagementEnforce company policies and department best practicesOperates as variety of equipment applicable within the assigned work area and backfills roles to maintain flow (i.e. CRTs, pallet jacks, production equipment, etc.)Coordinates employee training to ensure all quality and customer requirements are metWorks with key stakeholders (i.e. VSM, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality, EH&S, etc.) on improving internal procedures, documentation, and training through deployment of the lean methodology using RCCM documentation processPerform other duties as assignedKey Qualifications:
Minimum of two years’ experience as production lead with an emphasis on good manufacturing practicesKnowledge of all operations of the assigned production process required, lean principles in order to lead and participate in Kaizen events and 5S activitiesAbility to write, speak, comprehend EnglishAbility to use computers and MS Office SuiteKnowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with themSkill in analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving to identify and support improvement effortsSkill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications, following detailed assembly instructions, processes and proceduresSkill in ability to communicate job expectations to production staff and achieving desired results by monitoring, coaching, enforcing policies and procedures and actively engage team members and provide the necessary support to keep the lines in continuous production mode. Ability to achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance and reporting any tardiness, attendance issues and disciplinary issues to the Production SupervisorAbility to conduct operator training on standard work to include work instructions, machine adjustments, product quality, company and value stream policies and procedures as requiredAbility to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance, balance working with multiple tasks and be able to deal well with frequent interruptionsAbility to handle confidential or sensitive information and conduct self with high degree of professionalism and decorumOngoing commitment to improving internal procedures, documentation, and training in coordination with the stakeholdersPhysical Requirements: Walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs.Position hours/shift:
1st Shift: M-Th 5:00am-3:30pm, Some mandatory overtime on FridaysCompensation:
The hourly pay for this role is: $26.00 to $28.00/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
