**Classification** : Assembly **Level** 1 **Purpose of Position** : Assemble parts, components, and modules to construct sub-assemblies and/or product. May include simple operation of machinery/equipment to fabricate parts. This position will be based out of Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s (the “Company”) corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC; supporting the global operations function of Gilbarco, North America. **Key Responsibilities** : + Fit, align, adjust, mount, fasten, attach, and connect parts and components to construct sub-assemblies and units. + Operate, adjust, and change tools on equipment such as fabricating, chip removal, robotic assembly, metal forming, and special purpose machinery to fabricate parts for assembly. + Operate testing, measuring, and calibration devices and equipment to assure conformance of product to specifications. + Perform functions and/or observe all company regulations and policies pertaining to safety, housekeeping, quality, ISO, teams activities, record keeping, material handling, material safety data, inventory systems, and preventive maintenance. + Effectively communicate with peer groups, engineers, team members, managers, and customers. **Background and Skills:** + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. + Demonstrated PC user skills + Demonstrated skills in use of hand tools, gauges, and bar coding and measuring instruments + Ability to read simple information from blueprint (part#, rev#, etc.) and read routine information from blueprints (dimensions, angles, etc.)While performing the duties of this job an employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and smell, see, talk, and hear.
