**Job Title:** **Hydraulic Valve Assembler** **Location:** Amherst, NY **Job Type:** Contract-to-Hire **Job Description** We are looking for a skilled **Hydraulic Valve Assembler** to join our team in Amherst, NY. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assembling various sizes of hydraulic valves, following work orders and blueprints to ensure precise and accurate assembly. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical aptitude, a good understanding of assembly processes, and a willingness to cross-train in other areas, including machine operation, shipping and receiving, and inventory management. **Key Responsibilities** + Assemble hydraulic valves of various sizes in accordance with work orders and blueprints. + Retrieve, handle, and return parts required for valve assembly, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. + Cross-train in other departments, including **machine operation** , **shipping and receiving** , and **inventory management** . + Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to **50+ pounds** as needed during the assembly process. **Essential Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to **read blueprints** and follow detailed work orders for valve assembly. + Strong **mechanical aptitude** , with hands-on experience using basic hand tools. + Previous **assembly experience** , ideally with **hydraulic valves** or similar mechanical components. + Familiarity with **marking, inventory management** , and **shipping/receiving** processes is a plus. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong hands-on **mechanical assembly skills** . + Proficiency with **hand tools** and a good understanding of safety protocols. + Ability to read and interpret **blueprints** and assembly instructions. **Why Work With Us?** + Competitive benefits package, including **401k** and **PTO** . + Opportunities for cross-training and career growth within a **clean, climate-controlled** facility. + Be part of a supportive team in a well-lit and comfortable industrial environment. **Work Environment** The work environment is a smaller, well-maintained industrial machine shop.
