Requirements

What will I need to thrive in this role?

3+ years of experience in an Art Director or Sr. Graphic Designer role, preferably in a digital-first, in-house agency or startup environment.Proven experience in conceptualizing and executing visual design across multiple platforms (digital, print, video, social, etc.).Strong understanding of branding and the ability to maintain consistency across all visual outputs, aligning with the company’s brand identity.Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and familiarity with video editing software.Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially marketing, copywriting, and product teams, to develop visual assets that meet strategic goals.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain creative concepts to stakeholders and collaborate with the broader creative team.Knowledge of current design trends and best practices in UX/UI, typography, and visual hierarchy.Attention to detail and a strong eye for aesthetics, able to balance creativity with practical execution.Experience working with or managing in-house designers, freelancers, and external creative partners (photographers, illustrators, etc.) to produce high-quality work.Familiarity with motion graphics and animation is a plus.

What does high performance look like?

Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to ensure all design and creative outputs align with the brand’s overarching visual and content strategy.Lead the execution of creative projects from concept to completion, ensuring all design elements maintain a consistent and cohesive visual language.Oversee the design and production of key deliverables, including digital ads, website assets, product visuals, social media graphics, email templates, brochures, and trade show materials.Provide creative input during brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative visual ideas that align with content strategies and business objectives.Manage a team of designers, ensuring that their work is of the highest quality and aligns with the brand’s creative vision.Translate complex marketing briefs into visually compelling solutions that effectively communicate the intended message while meeting business and marketing objectives.Ensure visual content is optimized for various digital platforms, focusing on enhancing user experience (UX) and driving engagement.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor designs to continuously innovate and elevate the brand’s visual presence.Collaborate with copywriters, videographers, and other content creators to ensure visual elements enhance and elevate the brand story.Conduct regular design reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve the team's work and ensure deliverables meet the company’s high standards of quality.Maintain project timelines, ensuring that design projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining creative excellence.Assist in building a scalable design system that streamlines production processes and enhances collaboration across the creative team.

Advanced Design Software Proficiency: Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software like Figma or Sketch, with the ability to quickly adopt new tools and technologies.UI/UX Design Expertise: A deep understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles, ensuring designs are both visually appealing and functionally effective across digital platforms.Data-Driven Design Decisions: Experience using design analytics tools (such as heatmaps, A/B testing) to track the performance of creative assets, making adjustments based on insights to optimize user engagement and conversion rates.SEO and Web Optimization for Visuals: Knowledge of SEO principles as they relate to visual content (image alt-text, page load speed, etc.), ensuring that design assets contribute to the website’s overall search engine performance.Motion Graphics and Animation: Competence in creating or overseeing the production of motion graphics and animations, adding dynamic elements to enhance user engagement.Cross-Platform Adaptability: Ability to create designs that work seamlessly across various platforms and devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) while maintaining a cohesive visual identity.Typography Mastery: Advanced knowledge of typography, ensuring that text elements are not only legible and clear but also aesthetically aligned with the overall brand style.Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: A strong analytical mindset, able to think critically about design challenges, propose creative solutions, and back those solutions with data and research.Design System Development: Experience in building and maintaining a scalable design system that enhances workflow efficiency and ensures consistency across all creative outputs.Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like Trello, Asana, or Monday.com, ensuring smooth project tracking and team collaboration.
