Area Manufacturing Manager - Drives and Drive Systems

The Area Manufacturing Manager provides high level manufacturing expertise in the application of best available technology and practices across all eight mills. The Area Manufacturing Manager works with mill manufacturing and corporate resources to facilitate the exchange of best practices between mills.

 

**Relocation is not required but must have the ability to travel up to 80% to various PCA locations.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Interface with Paper Mill personnel as required (24/7)Remote Troubleshooting and Technical Phone Support as requiredAttend Drive System design meetings as requiredAt Mill SitesVia Teams/Skype/etc.Factory Tests at Drive Vendor FacilityReview Design / Approve Electrical/Mechanical DrawingsWrite “Scope of Work” Documents for Bid Process for Drive and Drive System InstallationsAssist Mills with Project ImplementationDemo of Existing Equipment (if required)Ability to Secure Removed Equipment for Other Facilities with the Same Style Equipment (obsolescence/spare parts)New Equipment SpecificationInstallation Of New EquipmentCommissioning of New EquipmentInterface with Mills / Vendors to Define Project Scheduling TimelinesSupport Mill Annual OutagesBest Practice Implementation for ReliabilityMaintenance For Drive EquipmentUpgrades For Drive EquipmentSupervise Mill / Travel Group Personnel if RequiredSupport Mill Short Outages as needed in all 8 MillsInterface with Mills related to Drive Equipment Corrective ActionsDefective Part(s) replacementsGeneral OEM Recommended Parts ReplacementsFirmware UpgradesSpare Parts InventoriesWork with Mill Personnel installing “Mill Driven” ProjectsDimensioning / Specifying Drive EquipmentAssist During Short Mill OutagesAssist During Annual OutagesAssist During an Emergency Basis – Either at site or remotely

 

Qualifications:

Excellent Communication SkillsAbility to Work with OthersAbility to Meet Deadlines Computer knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Excel, Power Point and WordUnderstanding and Ability to Use Hand Tools and Electrical Metering Equipment SafelyBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or universityAC / DC Drive TheoryAC / DC Motor TheoryAbility to Read Electrical SchematicsAutoCAD Basic KnowledgeBasic Knowledge of Drive Systems and Drive Related EquipmentBasic Understanding of Driven Mechanical Equipment a plus Minimum experience of 5 years in the Paper Industry or equivalent experienceParticipation in Drive System Installations and/or Commissioning a plusRockwell PLC/CLX Knowledge a plusProject Management Skills a definite plusAbility to travel 80% of the time - Mostly weekly trips, some weekend layovers will be requiredPossess a Valid Passport and State issued driver’s licenseThe Successful Candidate will possess the ability to live anywhere in Continental US within a reasonable commute to a Commercial Airport
