Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Area Manager in our Maintenance Department at our Steelton location. The Area Manager is responsible for safety, production, productivity, quality, customer service, training and equipment reliability for maintenance planning and scheduling.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Manages Shift Managers, Process Managers and their subordinate crews. Oversees Plant Operations, Manufactory Processes and Equipment MaintenanceDirects and coordinates the development of short and long-range operation/maintenance plans, budgets, and performance targetsPrioritizes tasks within the constraints of the safety standards, environmental regulations, production needs, budget, and labor agreementsMeet Business Plan financial EBITDA and KPI goalsConduct Safety meetings, perform and record contacts/observations/interactionsInvestigate reports of safety incidents and issues in conjunction with Safety DepartmentCollaborates with other departments regarding internal/external customer requestsPromotes and encourages safety, teamwork, and high-performance standards throughout the section and oversees the disciplinary actionDesigns and leads training programsOther duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree OR 10+ years of supervisory experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing facilityKnowledge of safety and health policies including key components of the OSHA regulations ASTM specificationsDemonstrated team building skills, works well with others of diverse backgrounds, and able to motivate othersAbility to communicate effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a union environmentBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or other Technical FieldExperience with maintenance planning softwareStrong technical skills including mechanical, electrical and maintenanceKnowledge of melting and casting steel or other metals preferred
