Our client is searching for an experienced Area Manager who will be responsible for the optimal running of these stores through the effective management of their store managers and their respective teams The successful candidate would be expected to be able to constantly motivate and drive their team and are vital in the development of staff within the company
Overview and requirements
Area manager will be responsible to ensuring the optimal running of these stores through the effective management of their store managers and their respective teams
Matric with a post matric qualification being advantageous
Valid Driver&rsquos License
Minimum of 5 years retail Area Manager experience at a leading retail chain
Position would be well suited to an Area Manager with a proven track record of multiple store management
Proven leadership ability and being able to communicate effectively is essential
Candidate must live in Johannesburg
Ideally candidates should be dealing with stores with a turnover of R10 million or greater per annum
Candidate must be experienced in handling disciplinary matters in retail
Candidate must have experience in scheduling staff/rosters/ HR matters in retail
The ability to be able to communicate clearly is essential
The ability to be able to work independently without supervision and make clear well thought out decisions
The ability to prioritise and execute work
The ability to grow and develop their team is crucial
Must be customer experience focused with the ability to drive sales in their area
Position will involve travel away from home at times a minimum of 5 to 7 days per month
Must be proficient in MS Office and work related tools
Candidate will work a general Monday to Friday work week but are expected to visit their stores 2 weekends per month
During peak retail periods extended working hours will be applicable and expected as a management employee
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with staff and roll up their sleeves to assist and work with staff on their store visits and execute task efficiently and effectively
Expected to be able to constantly motivate and drive their team and are vital in the development of staff within the company
