Overview

Homes for Independent Living, a MyPath company, provides an array of service models in a variety of residential settings. We support people through individualized service plans that range from high personal care needs to those who present complex behavioral challenges.  HIL is looking for an Area Director of Operations to join our team.  The Area Director of Operations is a full-time role as a dynamic and engaging leader for our Southeast area. The role is located in Waukesha/Milwaukee, WI, with some hybrid flexibility. The Area Director of Operations participates in high level strategic decision making based on observations, audits and review as serving in the role. The ADO is also responsible for supporting supervisors and support roles through mentorship and collaboration by managing high performing teams, budgeting, and promoting quality services and maximizing customer service delivery.


As an Area Director of Operations, you will:

Monitors area occupancy, quality of services and needs of existing and potential clients.Supports the entrance of new clients and funding entities and facilitates internal moves or discharges from service.Ensures structure of proposed and current services meet client needs and funder requirements to achieve intended outcomes.Manages area operating budgets through review of company financial reports and develops action plans to address variances and ensure profitability.Works closely with Executive Director, Director of Finance, and the Admissions team to review, develop, and secure new business opportunities.Develops and maintains strong partnerships with external stakeholders to positively impact agency development, sustainability, and growth within the Company.Reviews the results of all internal investigations including alleged employee misconduct, employee and client grievances, appeals related to corrective action, and root cause analyses.Implements and evaluates mitigation plans aimed at diminishing potential for recurrence.Ensures client care and program concerns are investigated and action plans are developed as needed.Performs human resource management and payroll functions for direct reports including interviewing and selection; orientation, training and performance monitoring and evaluations, coaching, counseling and corrective action.Monitors employee morale and retention.Maintains positive, open and supportive work relationships with HIL employees.Report allegations of abuse, conflict of interest, harassment or fraud to appropriate level of management.


Qualifications

Operations Management and Budgeting skillsAnalytical Skills and Team Management abilitiesCustomer Service expertiseExperience in human services or healthcare industry is a plus, experience with IDD/DD population preferredExperience managing multiple locations with multiple levels of managersExcellent communication and leadership skillsBachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration or Healthcare Management10 years of experience in the human services field and 3 years supervisory experience
