• supervises all product planning, doctrinal review, intellectual property (including visual identity and data privacy) review, and research activities in the area.

• manages the Area Materials Evaluation Committee (a group of experienced, doctrinally sound former local Church leaders called by the area presidency) who review content being created for doctrinal accuracy.

• has the authority to freeze the publishing budget and stop publishing work if it is does not have a certified product plan or if it is not in alignment with approved Church policy and procedures.

• manages all outside contractors and vendors performing research for the area.

• reports directly to the area presidency for all Correlation functions and represents the area presidency to all area staff members in Correlation-related matters.

The area DTA helps manage any administrative or operational needs this position may have. Strategy, standards, processes, and training for this position come from the Correlation Department.
