Your Role 

 

As a Project Architect you will collaborate with our Design Directors and Technical Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of architecture and interior design projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do  

Work in a team environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on varying project typesCollaborate on all project phases including programming, project strategy, client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, consultant coordination, construction documents, construction administration and management of budgets and schedulesCoordinate with all team members on delivery of project milestones including design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectivesProduce graphic presentations including 3D renderings, and construction drawingsContribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for constructionProvide technical support and documentation during completion and execution of all phases of project workClearly communicate your design ideas to the project teamAssist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordinationEstablish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationshipsWork in a synergistic manner with other design and professional staffParticipate and contribute to office and firm cultureChampion Gensler’s diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultants

Your Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program5-10 years of experience as an Architect/Designer/Technical Designer/Intern Architect/Job CaptainProficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D, including Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino and other visualization softwareGround up building architectural experience; interiors experience is a plusOutstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideasStrong Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; SPEXX a plusFlexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of developmentStrong conceptual thinkerClose attention to detail and technical abilitiesHighly capable in communicating design ideas and direction effectively and quicklyA quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentStrong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skillsHand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plusLicensed / Registered ArchitectLEED accreditation is a plusDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
