Duties:

Must be able to function according to the facility nursing aide job description and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the facility.Obtains annual in-service hours as required by the State.Follows all written instructions of Staff Nurse's Plan of Care as developed from a physician's treatment plan, within limits of the facility's and Agency's policies for Certified Nurse Aides.Provides all necessary personal care as instructed by Staff Nurse:Bathing: bed bath, partial, tub, or showerLinen change for occupied or unoccupied bedOral hygieneHair careSkincareNail care: cleaning, filingTurning and positioning with emphasis on maintaining good body alignmentAssisting with ambulation and transfer techniquesAssists patient with eating, documentation of quantity eaten, difficulties, appetiteAssists with elimination needs via bedpan, urinal, commode, and bathroomTaking and recording TPR, BPAccurately measuring intake and output

m. Performing and recording results of urine testing for sugar and acetone

Assisting Staff Nurses in assessing, describing, and recording patient's level of consciousness, response to treatment, adjusting to condition, understanding of the condition, coping mechanismsObserving and reporting changes in patient's condition to Staff NurseAssisting with an active and inactive range of motion as instructed by Staff NurseAssisting with soaks as instructed by Staff Nurse. Performing colostomy care by emptying and cleaning bag per Staff Nurse instructionsProviding decubitus care if no medications are involved per Staff Nurse instructionsAdministering and monitoring oxygen useApplying heat/ice as instructed by Staff NurseProviding reality orientationWorks with patients with maturity, compassion, empathy, and confidentiality at all times.Records all pertinent care and observations in patient record as dictated by facility.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older.Must have reliable transportation with current auto insurance and driver's license.Current CNA License or one year of Home Health Aide experience.One year of recent or relevant experience.Current TB, physical, and clear background check.
