Responsibilities
As an LOSC, you will play an important role in:
Partnering with the local manager and arborist representatives to manage and develop the office safety programProviding safe on-site training, mentoring, and supervision of crew members of all skill levelsEnsuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignmentConducting periodic crew, facility, and pesticide storage auditsEnsuring that new employee orientations are conducted in a meaningful wayScheduling and conduct daily Tailgate Safety MeetingsEnsuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standardsPerforming ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignmentsSafely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:Tree identificationTree risk assessmentsPruningRemovalsCabling and bracingRoot collar excavationsProperly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policiesQualifications At least five (5) years of experience in the tree care industryValid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditionsDemonstrated ability to conduct group and individual training or prior crew leader experience Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivatedISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred but not required
