Job DescriptionAECOM is a global consulting firm, working with clients to solve complex challenges and create lasting legacies. We design, build, finance and operate projects for governments, businesses and organisations in more than 150 countries. The Project Management team sits within the Buildings + Places business line, our responsibility is to help clients go beyond just delivering projects on time and on budget. We focus on understanding key success drivers and deliver outcomes that meet our clients’ broader goals.
The Project Management Apprenticeship will start in September 2025 predominantly based within the London office. You will work under the close supervision of senior colleagues and the nature of the work can be fast paced to meet the client and project deadlines.
As part of the Apprenticeship, you will work towards a BSc (Hons) Construction Management with University College of Estate Management (UCEM). Following successful completion of the degree, and upon achievement of the experience requirements, you will sit the Assessment of Professional Competency (APC) set by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Over the course of the four-year apprenticeship programme, you will have dedicated study days provided and access to a range of online and blended learning tools.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to undertake a 6-month rotation with a Contractor that partner with AECOM, exposing you to working in a contracting and construction environment.

Canada Water Masterplan - British Land and Australian Super’s Canada Water Masterplan will be the first new town centre in London in 50 years, providing a truly mixed-use new urban centre, built for the future. AECOM are appointed as the project managers across the Masterplan. Over 12 years, this transformative project will deliver 3,000 net zero carbon homes, 2 million sq ft of workspace for 20,000 workers, a leisure centre, and a vibrant high street and town square. With 35% public open space and a focus on enhancing local history and biodiversity, it is the UK’s most sustainable urban redevelopment.
22 Bishopsgate - AECOM served as the Employer’s Representative for 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest building in the City of London. This landmark project redefines workspaces with innovative social spaces and a vertical village concept, offering a variety of amenity space, such as a gym, restaurant and bar. The public viewing gallery on the upper levels offers the highest sight lines across London. Spanning 62 floors, it delivers 1.4 million square feet of office space, accommodating 12,000 people.
Serpentine Pavilion - AECOM provides project management and multidisciplinary design services for the iconic Serpentine Pavilion in Kensington Gardens, one of the world’s top ten most-visited architectural and design exhibitions. Each year, we collaborate with renowned architects to transform visionary designs into functional, buildable spaces. With tight timelines and innovative engineering solutions, our team ensures the Pavilion becomes a standout feature of London’s cultural calendar.
Moorefield Eye Hospital – The Oriel - The Oriel project is a joint initiative by Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology to create a world-class eye health facility in London's King's Cross. This new centre will integrate clinical care, research, and education under one roof, enhancing collaboration and innovation in ophthalmology. AECOM are appointed to provide project management services for the Oriel, along with a host of other services including lead designer a variety of engineering services.
AECOM Typical PM Duties
Apprentices are likely to gain exposure on some of the duties outlined below, however, this will be dependent on the stage of the project they are working on.

No relevant experience is necessary. The position is ideally suited to school leavers at A-Level standard (or equivalent) who can demonstrate:
Minimum 96 UCAS points (or equivalent) orCompleted an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or Construction Technical through which a Construction & Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction & Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained.Minimum of grade 4/ 5 / ‘C’ in Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent)An interest in and desire to pursue a career in Project Management and the Built EnvironmentAn aptitude towards good logic, problem solving and strong organizational skillsCommitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities.Ability to work virtually/remotelyAbility to works as part of a teamPractical, adaptable and enthusiasticEnglish language proficient, holding excellent communication skills
