The general role of an Apprentice Electrician is to work in conjunction with Electricians and Electrical Foreman to install, maintain, and repair various electrical components within customer locations. This individual will work with both low and high voltage electrical applications, and learn to work in a wide array of industries including Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Coal, Wind and Solar Energy, etc.

 

This position must be flexible and willing to travel with overnight stays and work extended hours as needed. The Apprentice Electrician will report to the Department Manager - Electrical and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

 

What You'll Do Assist Electricians and Electrical Foreman with installing and maintaining electrical and power systemsInstall electrical components such as lighting, electrical outlets, circuit breakers, etc.Run a variety of styles and sizes of conduit and cable trays to electrical devicesPull wire to termination boxes, panels, and other controllersLoad and unload tools, materials, equipment, etc.Drive ground rods and install grounding gridsUtilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical tradeAssist with paperwork and documentation for accurate record keepingLearn to read electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other electrical specificationsLearn to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues, systems, and components

What You'll Bring 0-2 years of electrical experience or equivalent/relevant education preferredValid Driver’s License requiredObtain a Journeyman Electrical License (WV preferred) after 1 year from hireAbility to identify and utilize hand and power tools typically utilized in the electrical tradeAbility to perform mathematical calculations accuratelyAbility to take accurate measurementsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to work well with others and act in a respectful manner towards co-workers and customersCompetent with email and text messaging
