Key job responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models that power natural language understanding and data analytics capabilities. - Push the boundaries of ML and Generative AI techniques to deliver personalized, context-aware insights at scale. - Collaborate closely with software engineers and product managers to integrate machine learning models into platform production systems, ensuring scalability and efficiency. - Conduct pioneering research in NLP, multimodal systems, and machine learning to enhance capabilities. - Analyze vast datasets to uncover actionable insights and continuously refine models’ performance through rigorous experimentation. - Drive innovation by contributing to the scientific community through research publications at conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS, and Amazon-hosted events. A day in the life - Early mornings to complete check-in, project updates, and code reviews - Team stand-up meeting with cross-functional groups for updates and alignment - Focused research time: reading papers, brainstorming, and experiment design - Afternoons dedicated to model development, coding, and experimentation - Engineering collaboration on deployment and optimization - Results analysis and documentation - End-of-day team communication and planning Basic Qualifications - PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience - 3+ years of building models for business application experience - Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals - Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language - Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing Preferred Qualifications - Experience using Unix/Linux - Experience in professional software development - Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C+Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
