The Scanless Tech organization builds products that eliminate the need for explicit scanning in the Amazon Fulfillment Network. We research, design, and implement solutions for automated identification of objects and object movement by removing the need for manual scanning of identifiers, like barcodes. We integrate hardware, software, and machine learning, developing products that are solution-agnostic while enabling easy integration from installation to execution. We push the boundaries of current solutions to solve customer challenges and impact many areas of Amazon’s operations. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of building models for business application experience - PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience - Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals - Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language - At least two years of relevant academic research in state-of-the-art approaches for at least one of the following: computer vision, resource allocation, simulations, optimization, planning, or machine learning Preferred Qualifications - Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts. - Proven track record in technical leadership and mentoring - Strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies with high customer impact Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
