Applications Analyst
Job Title: Applications Analyst Department: Information Technology Starting Rate: $20.28 per hour Reports To: Applications Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Closing Date: Open until filled SUMMARY : Coordinates installation of Gaming and Point of Sale software and tests, maintains, and modifies software by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: + Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the public and fellow associates. + Monitors application servers, modifies tasks, computer files and memory management for efficient operation. + Initiates test of system programs and observes readout on monitor of computer system to detect errors of work stoppage. + Coordinates with third party support to correct reported issues in software applications. + Analyzes performance indicators such as system’s response time, number of transactions per second, and number of programs being processed at once, to ensure that system is operating efficiently. + Changes systems software so that system performance will meet objectives. + Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested changes to operating system are possible. + Writes description of steps taken to modify system and procedures required to implement new software. + Assists users having problems with use of system software. + Trains users to use application software. + Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to modify system software. + Administers and monitors computer program that controls user access to system. + Reviews productivity reports and problem records to evaluate performance of computer system. + Participates with the shared services program for the Tewathahonni Corporation. + Other duties as assigned by the Applications Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year programming using Microsoft SQL, MS Access, or other recognized windows database programming and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or associates of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and machine operation (with/without inspection). Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to inside environment, loud noise, hazards, and oils. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.
