The Applications Specialist will have responsibilities in all areas of applications activities for charged particle microscopy including XRM sales, marketing, and customer support in APAC. This individual will work extensively with the sales team to demonstrate the full capabilities of the tools as applies to customer needs. The specialist will provide support to marketing through the development of collateral and participation at customer-facing events. The specialist will travel to existing customers for training and applications support. Excellent time management skills, communication skills and ability to work in a team as leader or team member. Conduct in accordance with company guidelines and standards is expected at all times.

Preparation and execution of customer demonstrations and sample runs.Work in conjunction with sales personnel to understand customer requirements in advance of demonstrations.Ensure that tools are in optimum condition in advance of demonstrations, as well as for customer use. Flag and push to resolution any issues that impede this performance.Prepare reports for customers on the full results of demonstration or sample work. This includes data analysis, either from images or information from other detection technologies.Develop and document methodologies for XRM applications according to what is needed and of value to current customer research needs.Travel to customer sites to provide training and applications support.Communicate to account management quickly and in detail any issues that impede customer productivity. Suggest technical path for resolution.Travel to trade shows and conferences to support marketing and sales.Write and present technical papers.Engage in ongoing training in the company’s XRM technology offerings.Knowledge of and experience in sample preparation techniques for materials, semiconductor and life science electron microscopy.Excellent communications skills.Strong customer focus.Strong problem solving skills.
