Application Engineer for AVEVA-PI DevOps

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple systems for the Manufacturing Systems capability for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue.Understand user requirements and deploy / expand AVEVA PI in sites / linesProvide 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control proceduresTake ownership of issues through from delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriateSupport development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release managementDemonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groupsDevelop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teamsLiaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvementsTrain, guide and mentor new hires in the team

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

3-6 years of prior technical support experience with deeper knowledge in AVEVA PI data historian application.Should have experience in implementation, RT reports developments, maintenance and technical support of AVEVA PI system.Strong understanding of AVEVA PI architecture and business functionality.Rich experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps toolsShould be strong in database (Oracle /SQL) querying and writing stored procedures.Should be able to work collaboratively and efficiently with multiple teams in multiple geographies.Experience on Windows/UNIX application environment and understanding of client-server / distributed computing concepts.Understanding of incident, problem, change , release management processes.Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)

Familiarity with life sciences(Pharma) domain concepts, workflow and terminologyDevelopment and troubleshooting experience on web applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework(ASP, VB,  C#)ITIL certificationGood understanding of Microsoft IIS/Web Services  (IIS 6.0, IIS 5.0)Experience in setting up and managing application environmentsMindset to support business critical applications

Educational Qualifications

UG - B.Tech /B.E. or other equivalent technical qualifications
