About the Role: We are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Business group. In this role, you will provide application support for both fiber optic and electrical cable solutions to enable sales growth at existing and new customers. The candidate for this role will be energized by the A&D industry and passionate about customer applications and customer experience.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs. Relocation assistance may be offered for this role.
Pay and Benefits:
$95,000 - $158,000 per year Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics. Responsibilities:
Partner with Field Sales and Product Specialists to drive growth of existing products in target end uses including to support the sales team in strategic selling and market assessment activities as the application expert Respond promptly to customer requests for technical support, including quality issues and/or integration issues in partnership with Operations, Field sales and Product Specialists globally Leverage customer relationships and market access as a key member of account and product teams to support matching internal capabilities with customer needs Partner with Application Engineers in other regions to support global customers and product development efforts Verify and validate that existing products meet fitness-for-use based on customer application requirements including the integration and use of the product including the coordination of internal testing in support of customer validation processes Partner with the product and technical team to analyze competitive alternatives and assess Gore’s product positioning and value propositionRequired Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or product experience tailored to the use of fiber optic cable Minimum of 3 years experience as an Application, Product Development, Design or Process Engineer with a focus in fiber optic cable and assemblies Strong interpersonal skills rooted in the ability to positively influence, build long-term relationships and trustful networks with customers as well as colleagues Proven ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects and/or customer support activities Proven ability to create and communicate comprehensive technical reports using analytical, problem solving, creative thinking, and reasoning skills Ability to influence cross functional teams to drive results internally and externally Ability to travel up to 50% domestically, with the possibility of international travelDesired:
