Your role and responsibilities

The Application Engineer is the first point of contact for the local sales organization for Large Motors and Generators (LMG) products within the Motion Business (MOLM-US). In accordance with company policies and procedures, the Application Engineer processes customer inquiries, orders, and requests for proposals (RFP). The Application Engineer prepares a motor design by using PC software and product technical knowledge. You will work cross functionally with engineering, sales, production, marketing, customer service internal functions and external end users and customers. The work model for the role is: Remote. #LI-RemoteThis role is contributing to the Motion Large Motors division in Houston, TX. Main stakeholders are Internal Departments and External Customers. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tOffering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications, orders quotes and proposals that fit customer needs. • Perform technical tasks to design a motor in accordance with the customer requirements, ensuring that the solution is the most cost effective.•\tAct as a technical resource in person or over the phone to customer for addressing, interpreting and resolving of technical inquiries and problems related to assigned product lines or/and regions.•\tProactively engages in initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the LSU and to increase customer satisfaction.Our team dynamics:You will join a high performing, talented team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a 4-year degree in a STEM, Business related field.\t2+ years’ experience involving AC Induction motors, generators or industrial products. \tAbility to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.\tAbility to respond to common inquiries from, and effectively present information to customers, vendors, management and other employees of the organization. \tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.Preferred Qualifications: \tExperience supporting technical industrial or drives sales teams.
