Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in the selection process. **How does this role contribute to our collective success?** We are seeking an experienced Application Delivery Lead to manage project and enhancement delivery across an existing data platform that supports the critical AXIS Insurance and Reinsurance Underwriting, Claims, Submissions and Pricing analytics. Responsibility of database performance, data quality and data availability is a key role within the Platforms team that enables effective decision making across the AXIS business teams. Building a strong relationship between D&A and the end user community through a stable, timely, trusted data platform with best in class reporting and analytics supports the goals and objectives of AXIS **What will you do in this role?** Team Leadership + Lead and mentor a team of data engineers dedicated to data enhancement and quality improvement that consists of both onshore and offshore team members in multiple time-zones + Play of lead role on daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure alignment, productivity, and rapid progress. + Assign tasks and prioritize bug fixes and enhancement projects, balancing workloads and removing any blockers. Data Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution + Use T-SQL and SSIS to troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve complex data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. + Develop and implement best practices for data monitoring and alerting to proactively detect data anomalies or system issues. + Work closely with team members and stakeholders to diagnose the root causes of data issues and implement timely, effective solutions. Enhancement & Bug Fix Management + Manage a backlog of data enhancements and bug fixes, coordinating with application and product teams to define scope and refine requirements. + Oversee the design, development, and testing of enhancements, ensuring high-quality, robust solutions are delivered on schedule. + Identify opportunities to optimize data workflows and processes, including automating manual tasks and improving data quality controls. Cross-Functional Collaboration + Act as the primary point of contact for escalated data issues and enhancements, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams. + Collaborate with application and product teams to understand business requirements and data needs, providing guidance on data warehouse best practices. + Effectively communicate project status, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders and leadership. Documentation & Reporting + Develop and maintain clear documentation of workflows, processes, troubleshooting guides, and enhancement projects. + Track and report on team performance metrics, including issue resolution times, enhancement delivery, and overall data quality improvements. **About You:** We encourage you to bring your own experience and expertise to the table, so while there are some qualifications and experiences, we need you to have, we are open to discussing how your individual knowledge might lend itself to fulfilling this role and help us achieve our goals. **What you need to have:** + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree a plus. + 5+ years of experience in data platform management with at least 2 years’ experience as a team lead. + Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, SQL Server and SSIS, with a proven track record in troubleshooting and optimizing data processes. + Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and ETL/ELT processes. + Experience working within Agile frameworks, including leading stand-ups and sprint planning. + Hands-on experience with Azure Devops and Azure Pipelines + Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks beneficial + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on data quality and accuracy. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions. **What we prefer you to have:** + A passion for complex data processing and performance tuning + Excellent attention to detail, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills + P&C Insurance industry experience, specifically on Underwriting and Claims, with Actuarial knowledge preferred **What we offer:** This is a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team in enhancing data quality, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and making a direct impact on data reliability and performance within a growing organization.
