Wage Range: $60,000 - $96,000 annually. The amounts listed are the base pay range. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicable education and internal equity.
EvergreenHealth Monroe, a small semi-rural acute care hospital has a fantastic opportunity for Annual Giving and Events Specialist to fill a position in our Foundation Department. JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works under the Director of Operations and Preparedness and collaboratively with the Administrative Council, hospital leadership, and the Foundation team to develop and implement strategies for community engagement, outreach, and philanthropy. This role is split between the EvergreenHealth Monroe Foundation and Hospital Community Engagement ensuring alignment between fundraising efforts and broader hospital initiatives, including community outreach programs, volunteer coordination, and event planning.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
REQUIRED for the position: Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence others through content knowledge, personal credibility, and facilitation. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with donors, volunteers, employees, hospital leadership, community organizations, and the public. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in event planning, community outreach, or fundraising. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms is also required.
DESIRED for the position: Three years of progressive experience in event fundraising, donor relations, community engagement, or outreach programs. Experience with soliciting donations from individuals and corporations, as well as recruiting, training, and evaluating volunteers. Background in a hospital or healthcare setting, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management software, experience in grant writing and reporting, and knowledge of local community organizations and civic groups.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending and speaking English as required for business necessity. Must possess intermediate skills to use Microsoft Office, specialized software and electronic office equipment. Proficiency in using social media, email marketing and other sources to assist with overall success.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste, materials and BBP. Works in an office environment and operates computers, copy machines and other office equipment. Risk of exposure to communicable diseases. Working in offsite locations as events require.
WORK CONTACT GROUP:
Foundation Board of Directors, Hospital Commissioners, Executives, Directors, Managers, physicians, consultants, hospital staff, patients, families, volunteers, visitors, outside agencies, community groups, and the general public.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
+ Develop and execute the annual giving campaign(s) while working collaboratively with the Foundation Manager.
+ Assist the Foundation Manager with event planning, including logistics, volunteer committee coordination, procurement, and data management.
+ Assist in the development and maintenance of the Foundation’s website, email campaigns, direct mail marketing, and social media activity.
+ Identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize, and steward individuals for annual gifts.
+ Manage the volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and retention efforts in collaboration with EvergreenHealth Volunteer Services department.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, civic groups, and local businesses to enhance outreach and philanthropic support.
+ Coordinate hospital-sponsored community engagement events, including health fairs, civic and community events and/or speaking engagements, and sponsorships.
+ Represent the hospital at community events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and foster partnerships. May include responsibility for initial coordination, securing volunteers, setting up and taking down booths and displays.
+ Works closely with EvergreenHealth system marketing team on press releases, brochures, flyers and advertisements.
+ Works closely with Administration, Leadership and marketing department to strategize different ways to spread awareness about the organization while also helping make and maintain relationships within the hospital district.
+ The position will include working at locations outside of hospital campus and/or outside of traditional business hours including evenings and weekends.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
