Animal Care Technician **Dubuque Regional Humane Society** 1 Positions ID: 53582 Posted On 09/27/2024 **Job Overview** **Title:** Animal Care Technician **Reports to:** The Animal Care Supervisor **Summary** The Animal Care Technician performs routine animal care and related duties at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. The Animal Care Technician must always strive for excellence and be enthusiastic and a team player. Animal experience is preferred, but not required; training will be provided. **Essential Job Functions:** + Thoroughly clean animal enclosures and provide animals with new blankets, toys, food, and water as instructed + Observe animals during cleaning and report any concerning behaviors to Director of Operations + Complete laundry and dishes for each required area of Kinsey’s Campus + Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure a clean, pleasant, and organized work environment including all areas that customers can and cannot see + Maintain good care of cleaning equipment + Janitorial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, taking out garbage + Wipe down counters and windows + Pick up feces and wipe up urine in animal enclosures between cleanings + Greet and provide timely, compassionate, and courteous service to customers, visitors, and volunteers as they enter Kinsey’s Campus + Provide accurate information to customers and volunteers about the DRHS’ policies and procedures + Other duties as assigned **Requirements** + Have steadfast belief in the mission, policies, and procedures of the DRHS + Animal handling skills + Multi-tasking skills + Flexibility in hours + Lift up to 50 lbs + Stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, twist, and stoop **Working Environment** The Animal Care Technicians will encounter regular exposure to animal odors, diseases, possible contagious conditions, bites, scratches, animal waste, and high noise levels.
