Are you ready to shape the future of Data, Analytics & AI within the Merck Enabling Functions (EF) Data & AI Organization? Our mission is to drive the digital transformation for 15+ Enabling Functions including Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal and many more.

 

This position is integral to our Group Data Strategy, emphasizing data democratization, governance, and the promotion of a data-driven, product-centric culture that empowers self-service analytics.

 

Your main responsibility will be to lead the design, build and run of cloud-native data and analytics solutions using Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, and AWS, grounded in a deep understanding of business needs and aligned with IT strategic objectives.

 

As a thought leader in data analytics, you will establish and uphold analytic standards and best practices to automate and streamline our analytics ecosystem thereby reducing time to insights and action.

 

Actively engaging in both internal and external people networks will be essential for knowledge sharing, mentoring colleagues, and building capabilities across the organization. Monitoring the architecture-related metrics and KPIs will ensure a continuous improvement.

Who you are:

University degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years’ experience in data engineering, application design, analytics, and visualization within a global organization.Experience with Finance, HR and/or Procurement data and core business processes.Strong technical skills in systems architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.Proven technical leadership experience in agile software development, including leading and mentoring engineering teams.Highly engaged expert with in-depth knowledge in one or more Data & Analytics areas, particularly with tools such as Palantir Foundry, Snowflake or AWS. SAP experience (ERP, BW, BDC etc) or Data Science knowledge is a plus.Proficiency in ETL processes, Spark, Kafka, and Python for distributed computation (preferably PySpark), SQL, R and REST APIs.Ability to work both individually and collaboratively in global matrixed product teams.Ability in establishing software engineering best practices including DevOps methodologies.Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus
