The role is responsible for planning, analyzing and assessing risk for consumer, student and real estate loan and account products extended to AACU members. Also responsible for activities that evaluate product trends, identifying product and process enhancements needed, and implementing product developments and changes, ensuring that programs offered remain competitive, meet the needs of our members and support the overall Credit Union vision and long term objectives. A thorough understanding of underwriting concepts, consumer credit reports, and origination systems is needed in order to ensure sound judgment is applied when making lending decisions or approvals. **What you'll do** + Participate in rate analysis and updates + Review approval decisions for deposit accounts and consumer loan exception + Review escalations at VP/SVP/CEO level + Analyze production and portfolio performance + Analyze, Interpret and implement underwriting changes in policies and procedures + Identify opportunities for underwriting and process improvements and recommend mitigation strategies + Address underwriting and credit risk concerns and create appropriate policy changes + Liaison to AACU marketing and business development departments + Prepare reports for the Board of Directors, management scorecard and adhoc analysis related to real estate, business services and consumer loans + Analyze results and trends and report to senior management as needed + Coordinate compliance and regulatory oversight + Assist with annual vendor due diligence for compliance + Maintain a current knowledge of changing legislation and regulatory climates + Maintain relationships with related vendors + Assist with maintaining consumer and mortgage loan operating systems + Assist with the annual budget process and monthly budget maintenance + Responsible for coordinating a branch cross-referral process + Maintain industry related contacts and memberships + The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act. **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + High School diploma or GED + Experience with underwriting concepts, consumer credit reports and origination systems **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related discipline + Three years or more of underwriting or complex lending experience + Experience with AACU systems + Previous banking or credit union experience + Understanding of SQL and Business Reporting Models **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software + Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, writing, analytical and creative problem-solving skills + Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and effectively implement change + Ability to be self-directed and comfortable with accepting ownership, responsibility and accountability of functional obligations + Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff as well as work closely with multiple departments + Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to research, analyze and report data with little guidance + Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational and analytical skills, plus capacity for attention to detail + Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously + Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines + Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision + Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends + Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance + Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
