GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Epic Analyst III to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level support and leadership in the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our Epic systems. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and drive the successful delivery of Epic initiatives. The Epic Analyst III will serve as a subject matter expert in their assigned Epic module(s) and play a key role in enhancing system functionality, efficiency, and usability.

The role of an Epic Analyst III is to partner with our teams to improve user experience, increase usage of our tools to improve patient care, and grow our community connect, value-based care, and ASC customer footprint. 

This role entails partnering and regularly communicating with product architects, fellow build analysts, trainers, technical analysts, leadership, release-cycle managers, project managers, comms, legal, compliance, and privacy, as well as our customers.  The expectation of an Epic Analyst III is to have in-depth experience in their areas of expertise to provide best practice guidance after researching and validating assumptions during the scoping phase, defining build requirements, seeking required internal approvals, building, testing, demoing, and training the trainers. 

Beyond large product enhancement projects, an Epic Analyst III will also be involved with performing day-to-day maintenance of the Epic system, defect fixes, Epic upgrades, customer implementations, and onsite travel to customers when research or support is needed.  The ideal candidate will use their knowledge and experience to solve problems, mature our product, make data-driven decisions, be self-disciplined with time management and deliverables, be an effective communicator, willing to share and document knowledge to help develop analysts I & II, and thrive in a rapid and primarily remote environment.

General Information about the Epic CKD Team:

DaVita Physicians Solutions has established a partnership with Epic, the market leader in Electronic Health Records (EHRs), to offer CKD EHR by Epic to nephrology practices and other related specialties.  CKD EHR also offers ASC and OBL workflows utilizing EpicCare Ambulatory tools for practices that perform dialysis access-related procedures. The goal of CKD EHR is to grow our customer base, improve user satisfaction, support value-based care initiatives, aid in revenue cycle management, and improve the clinical outcomes of our customers' patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Upgrade, enhancement, and special projects work

Support Epic upgrades in assessing needs, completing build, testing, and supporting training team with contents of change/update.Learn about future trends in EHR technology to support and promote high value build and functionality in areas such as Value Based Care, Regulatory programs, Integrations and Interoperability for Nephrologists and their practices.Work in Nova, Asana, Product Board, JIRA and other tools to document build steps and statusesWork with end users and SMEs to understand enhancement and optimization requestsResearch, design, build, and testing of workflows and enhancementsDocumenting and migrating build

Implementation support

Assist in requirements gathering, workflow analysis, build, testing, and go-live phases of the implementationSupport users and training team with build fixes and responding to questions about workflow designImplementation support for new practices and new modulesDocumenting and migrating buildWritten and verbal collaboration with end users and internal partners to understand issues, design solutions, and explain workflowsEngaging with third parties to define, build, test, and troubleshoot integrated workflows

Incident and request resolution

Monitor ServiceNow for incidents and requests assigned to teamFollow-up with requesters as needed for additional informationUpdate status and document notes and resolutionManage team-owned workqueues and error logsSome on-call responsibilities for urgent issuesManagement of workqueues and error queuesDocumenting and migrating build

Mentoring and training of other Epic team members

Other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Bachelor’s Degree

Proficiency with the following tools:

Epic tools such as Nova and SherlockProduct/Project Management tools such as Asana, Product Board, JIRA/ConfluenceMicrosoft Office products

Professional Billing Knowledge:

SFTP ExperienceKnowledge of Clearing House IntegrationKnowledge of professional billing best practicesPayer and Payer Plan

Minimum of 8 years of building experience as an Epic Build Analyst

Skillset:

Strong technical proficiency in Epic application build, configuration, and maintenance, with expertise in one or more Epic modules.Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and initiatives from conception to completion, with a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions on time and within budget.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Strong commitment to customer service, with a passion for delivering value-added solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency

Two or more of the following Epic Build Certification(s):

Epic Professional Billing Claims (required)PB AdminCadence/PreludeHIM

Preferred

Master’s Degree

Knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Epic Community ConnectNephrology and kidney care

Project scoping and management

Project Management Certification (PMP or CAPM)

TRAVEL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS

Travel: Up to 25% for visits to customer practices, team meetings, conferences, and training

Nights/Weekends: Occasional nights and weekend work needed during onsite trips and to support urgent issues

Language Skills

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment

Vision adequate to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of the position.  May be required to demonstrate the ability to differentiate colors on a test strip.

Physical Demand

Physical requirements can vary.  These must be reviewed with management.  However, in general, the position requires the following activities:

Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs to a max of 50 lbs unassisted and able to stand, sit stoop, walk, stretch, reach, and use full range of body motions.Manual dexterity as required for specific equipment and ability to use computer keyboard and peripherals.

Salary/ Wage Range

$91,000.00 - $133,700.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
