Key Responsibilities:

The role will investigate and provide support the United Airlines Food Safety & Quality Assurance program to ensure compliance by hospitality partners to meet FDA Food Code and international regulations as appropriate based on location. This role supports the Sr. Manager - Food Safety with conducting investigations into food related issues and working with catering partners to determine corrective action. This role will also support regular communication and follow up with partners to ensures issues are resolved in an adequate and timely manner.

Conduct investigations ensuring that root cause analysis is completed for all non-conformance and customer complaintsPartner with caterers to ensure corrective actions are adequate and accounted forAssisting in driving continual improvement through implementation of innovative solutions utilizing technologyMaintain records in food safety software systems i.e. Safety Chain, Quality First and Share Point ensuring they are accurate and kept currentParticipate in management review meetings and quarterly business review meetings to share performance results and trends with suppliers, contract caterers and hospitality partnersWork with cross functional team members to promote food safety culture through simplified communication of the importance of technical requirementsQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field3+ years in a Food Safety and Quality Assurance role within fast paced food manufacturing or food services environmentHACCP CertificationServSafe Manager Certification (* Food safety certifications are needed, however, if all required certifications are not available currently, UA may fund for certifications to be obtained.)Knowledge of FDA-Food CodeKnowledge of food microbiology, food safety, food defense, product traceability, sanitation requirements, environmental monitoring, continuous improvement, cold chain and allergen managementStrong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with personnel, customers, suppliers and other business contacts Ability to review and interpret technical documentation, understand validation studiesAttention to detailsStrategic/Big picture thinkingStrong interpersonal skills to influence and change food safety cultureStrong analytical skillsWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Previous experience with FDA board of health auditsAuditor TrainingKnowledge of airline experience and catering operationAdvanced computer skills with food safety software programs

The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
