About the roleYou will assist the AML Divisional Manager in performing quality assurance reviews across various financial crime compliance functions to ensure accuracy and reasonableness. These functions include, but are not limited to, reviewing suspicious activity alerts, conducting AML investigations, performing enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews, and overseeing sanctions payment and name screening. Additionally, you will be responsible for training others based on QA findings, stepping in as a team lead when necessary, and ensuring the quality of investigations, particularly in complex AML cases.
Our ideal candidate has A qualification in Risk and Compliance or a related field. 3+ years of investigative experience within a business banking environment, specifically in Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Proven experience in gathering and analyzing information to make informed decisions. Strong skills in interpreting and applying regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of: Legislation regarding money laundering control, proliferation finance and combating of terrorist financing Understanding of money laundering means and mechanisms on a global scale Understanding of sanctions Client due diligence and AML environment. Understanding the Risk Management and Compliance Programme and the purpose it serves in AML Business acumen Know Your Customer (KYC), risk based approach Investigation methodology and techniques Report writing and evidence gathering Business entity structures and related AML requirements Client due diligence and investigations on juristic and non-juristic clients. Knowledge of Trade-based money laundering
