**Job Description:**
**Position Summary:**
This role is responsible to prepare consolidated financial statements, financial reports for the Board of Directors, SEC filings, and other analysis as requested by management. Research accounting and SEC issues to ensure proper reporting and disclosure.
**Here’s what you’ll do:**
+ Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including the basic statements and footnotes, and maintain related accounting records and supporting schedules.
+ Analyze financial statement results, report on changes in financial position/budget variances, and provide analyses and explanations on such, both through independent research and through coordination with other individuals and segments for explanation.
+ Leads the preparation of SEC filings, such as 8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, etc. including the preparation and review of XBRL tags to ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements.
+ Researches accounting and SEC issues to ensure proper application of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
+ Works with financial systems to develop and maintain financial reporting templates using applicable software.
+ Assists with the preparation of internal reports and supporting documentation during the quarterly and annual reporting cycles to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting.
+ Assist with the development of plans for implementation of all relevant accounting standards.
+ Leads the preparation of quarterly financial reports for the Board of Directors.
+ Prepares employee benefit plan financial statements.
+ Participates in Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing.
+ Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
**Here’s what you’ll need:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in Finance or related field.
+ Master of Business Administration (Preferred)
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) strongly preferred.
+ Five years accounting and/or financial analysis experience required.
+ Experience in food distribution / wholesale / retail operationspreferred.
+ Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cross functionally and with all levels in the organization.
+ Strong analytical and effectivedecision-makingskills, organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, strong initiative, and ability to prioritize multiple priorities.
+ Excellent financial/spreadsheet modeling skills.
+ Systems knowledge or the ability to adapt quickly is important (buying systems, billing systems, accounting systems). Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
