Team

The role of the Finance Platform Strategy (FPS) team is to help drive transformative change, both within the Finance organization and with respect to how Finance delivers insights to business management teams across BlackRock.  As a member of FPS, you will own delivery of specific critical initiatives framed by clear goals and business requirements, measures of success and project plans which ensure each project can be executed successfully on a timely basis. Team members must be self-starters who are passionate about continuous improvement and who will productively collaborate to assess and respectfully challenge the status quo on an ongoing basis. Success is evaluated through a track record of proposing, influencing and executing constructive and innovative solutions that deliver against Finance and business partner objectives. The team works in partnership to find creative ways to unlock capacity to enable finance colleagues to do their best work.

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

Provide day-to-day user support for our IBM Planning Analytics (F.K.A. TM1) application

Run weekly, month-end and quarter-end data processing to support actuals and forecast/budget close process across financial platform(s), Oracle, Hierarchy Manager, Planning Analytics, Cognos Analytics

Drive IBM Planning Analytics development initiatives forward in collaboration with various partners across Finance. Lead projects from end-to-end using SDLC approach

Contribute to the buildout, testing, code migration and maintenance of the Cognos (IBM Planning Analytics / Cognos Analytics) Financial Management Platform at BlackRock

Perform testing of system functionality as new versions are released, prior to engaging end users in acceptance testing

Create/update training guides and training videos, and conduct live user training sessions

Partner with variety of functions within Global BlackRock Finance department to understand business uses cases for Planning Analytics development, or other automation/solutioning

Provide regular project communication, status reports and critical issues in a concise and direct manner so that key partners are aware and advised

Create, maintain, and update clear and detailed documentation for models, processes, and workflows. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, organized, and accessible to relevant team members for easy reference and knowledge sharing

Proactively look for opportunities to optimize the current business processes within Finance globally

Skills Requirements:

Strong technical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced/ expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint)

Exposure to programming languages (such as Visual Basic, Python, R, C++, or Java) and an understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) and OLAP technology are helpful

Understanding of Financial planning and forecasting process preferred

Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics development skills preferred

Developer/power user experience with one or more of the following reporting/analytical tools preferred: Cognos Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics

Familiarity with other enterprise planning and performance management tools is a plus (e.g., Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan)

Background in Finance, IT, or similar fields are preferred. Knowledge of financial instruments and markets is beneficial

Experience working in the Asset Management industry or similar financial services environments is preferred

For Atlanta, GA Only the salary range for this position is USD$71,250.00 - USD$90,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
