We work together to develop data-driven expansion strategies and guide CarMax to make sound financial investments that enable our growth goals, particularly around retail sales, vehicle reconditioning, and wholesale auctions. These investments include both the continued expansion of our retail locations as well as the vast network of facilities required to support sales of 1,600,000+ vehicle a year with reconditioning, auction, and transportation capacity. Our team of business analysts plays a critical role in identifying future opportunities for expansion, developing strategies to support growth on a 3-10 year time horizon, and highlighting key insights to unlock optimal returns on our existing investment portfolio. **Key questions include:** + Where are the largest opportunity areas to reach new customers? + What store type is optimal for serving that demand? + What is the expected return on investment? + How should future investments change as more of our business shifts online? + Which regions will need additional reconditioning and auction facilities? + How should these facilities be prioritized and when is the optimal time to build? As an Analyst, you will work closely with our Operational and Strategy business partners to make key recommendations for financially optimal expansion strategies. These strategies will support CarMax’s long term strategic goals and ensure that we have the right infrastructure in place to meet the growing needs of our retail and wholesale customers. **What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities** A successful finance strategy analyst will: + Be an analytic partner and establish a close working relationship with our business partners + Conduct data and financial analysis to propose and evaluate future store growth and expansion opportunities + Enhance and utilize analytical tools (models, reports, dashboards) to monitor store performance and identify opportunities to drive innovation and efficiency + Translate insights into clear business recommendations for operational partners and department leadership **Qualifications and Requirements** Ability to consistently deliver at a high level on the responsibilities listed above.
