A successful engineer joining the team will do much more than write code and triage problems. You will work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience. We are seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have a good understanding of Linux and automation. We need engineers who understand how to both think big and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
- Build, deploy and monitor AWS Non-Relational and Emerging Database Services (such as DynamoDB, ElastiCache, and Neptune) within Amazon Dedicate Cloud (ADC) regions.
- Design, deploy, monitor and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.
- This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically about 10 days a quarter supporting AWS services in our portfolio.

A day in the life
On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, launch a new service or feature, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

About the team
We work normal business hours Monday through Friday at the downtown Denver office. We spend most of our time building and operating AWS database services for external customers. We focus on operational excellence and are always looking for new ways to be a better team.
