Alliances and Standards Specialist

 

In this global, individual contributor role, you will represent ASSA ABLOY in key industry standards organizations, contributing to the advancement and adoption of access control technologies. Industry alliances and standards bodies play a crucial role in shaping market adoption, and this position requires active engagement with these organizations and their stakeholders.

Success in this role requires self-motivation, adaptability, and strong relationship-building skills, as priorities are often shaped by external factors. The role involves significant external interactions and requires flexibility in managing tasks across multiple industry forums.

This position involves 25-30% travel and may require supporting external meetings outside of local business hours.

The salary range for this position is $150 000-200 000+ bonus. At ASSA ABLOY, we believe our greatest asset is our people, and we strive for competitive compensation plans to attract the best talent. Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and refinement of industry standards that influence access control technology adoption. Represent ASSA ABLOY in standards organizations and alliances, ensuring the company’s technologies are well-positioned within industry frameworks. Engage with alliance members and stakeholders to contribute to discussions that shape industry specifications. Monitor and analyze emerging technology trends, particularly in data privacy and cybersecurity, to assess their impact on access control solutions. Collaborate with internal teams to align ASSA ABLOY’s approach to standards with divisional and global objectives. Evaluate and recommend relevant technologies that support new product development and market needs. Ensure feasibility of proposed specifications by occasionally implementing portions of standards within ASSA ABLOY products. Identify synergies across business divisions to drive consistency in industry engagement strategies.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

Several years of professional experience from, and a developed understanding of, the access control industry. Familiar with industry standards organizations, particularly those influencing Physical Access Control solutions. Technical understanding of access control architecture, digital security protocols, and industry best practices. Experience with new product design and go-to-market evaluation. Strong ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and contribute effectively to industry discussions. Proven ability to analyze ambiguous situations, identify gaps, and drive strategic alignment. Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization, coordinating across multiple teams and priorities. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders. An academic degree is preferred. Willingness to travel (25-30%) and support meetings across multiple time zones.
