Job Description
We are seeking a Heavy Structures Mechanic to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position supports a contingent maintenance program and offers multiple openings to ensure coverage for various shifts. You will troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft, engines, and airframe systems, performing maintenance and adjustments in accordance with technical specifications and engineering instructions.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft, engine, and airframe systems.Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems.Assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures, and perform minor part-fitting operations.Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure.Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.Maintain and repair aircraft systems and components, including engines, auxiliary power units, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, oxygen, and mechanical components.Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition or operation.Provide technical support to maintenance managers, propulsion/airframe engineers, and customers.Perform corrosion control, preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections, fuel sampling, and miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower and higher-level technicians.Essential SkillsHigh School diplomaMinimum of 10 years of multiengine transport category aircraft experienceProven ability to troubleshoot aircraft mechanical, engine, and propeller systemsAbility to work any assigned shift and overtime as neededPhysical ability to become respirator qualified and work in confined spacesAbility to obtain/maintain a valid state driver’s licenseAbility to be licensed for and operate appropriate Ground Support EquipmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to troubleshoot, isolate problems, and repair all aircraft mechanical, electrical, engine, and propeller systems excluding avionicsExperience in structural repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of sheet metal parts, items, and assembliesPrevious engine turn qualificationFamiliarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalentWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
The work will be conducted in a hangar. Candidates need to be open to working day or night shifts and any day of the week on a set schedule that is traditionally Monday-Thursday or Thursday-Sunday. Currently, per diem is only offered to those candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the work location.
