Aircraft Operations Engineer
**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **Aircraft Operations Engineer** in our Hughes Network Systems division **.** This role will be located at our office in **Lisle, IL, or Germantown, MD.** **Responsibilities:** + Support and resolve aircraft connectivity issues utilizing a holistic understanding of the system, including hardware, software, and network requirements. + Serve as an escalation point for tier 1 technical support teams. + Track hardware failures and work closely with the reliability team to implement long-term solutions. + Utilize various data sources, such as performance metrics, tickets, and system logs to identify systemic failure trends. + Define automation requirements to optimize tools and improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. + Act as a bridge between engineering, development, and program management to foster collaboration and alignment between critical departments. + Work on-call, which can include nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 team. **Basic Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, aviation, a similar field or a combination of education and experience + 5+ years of technical operations experience, ideally from an aviation-centric or satellite communications provider. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Satellite Communications systems experience (GEO, MEO, LEO), as a service provider + Aviation software and hardware experience in installation, maintenance, and repair + Network Operations background with major service provider experience + Operations Management background from education or work experience + Airline maintenance experience The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
