Responsibilities Performs a wide range of major and minor maintenance and inspection work on general aviation aircraft frames, systems, and their components, including high performance aircraft. Performs removal, troubleshooting, analysis, repairs, rebuild, modification, installation, replacement, adjustments, alignments, rigging, torques, disassembly, functional operations and checks on major assemblies, subassemblies, and their components. Makes repairs to a variety of systems, assemblies, and surfaces such as hydraulic, oil, fuel, and pressurizations systems, landing gear assemblies, ailerons, and flaps. Use a variety of conglomerate and sensorial diagnostic and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc. to ensure proper functionality and airworthiness. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must have experience that demonstrates the ability to perform maintenance on a variety of General Aviation aircraft with little to no supervision. In addition to knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, and less complex assemblies, must possess knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation, and adjustment of a wide array of aircraft systems and assemblies such as fuel and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, instrumentation systems, engine(s), landing gear assemblies, airframe, and control surfaces. Must possess skills and abilities to function test and/or troubleshoot aircraft systems; determine when they are operation properly or whether portions of the system must be repaired or replaced; and the type and extent of adjustment and alignment needed. Must be able to successfully use appropriate tools and test equipment to maintain and test aircraft operability. Must have skill in reading and understanding data and settings from the cockpit instruments and gauges.
