Job Description
HII - Mission Technologies is looking to hire an Engineering and Maintenance Drafter/Designer to provide technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Division (AMED) in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Army’s AMED provides its engineers and analyst the opportunity to gain experience in various programs, including Research & Development, Fielding & Implementation, and Sustainment Engineering programs supporting the DoD Aerospace Industry. In addition, HII engineers and analysts set the standard of professional and ethical conduct and participate in diverse professional development opportunities.

What you will do Support government engineers with expert technical guidance related to aviation maintenance engineering for rotary aircraft or uncrewed aircraft systems. Work closely with engineers and subject matter experts to ensure designs meet operational requirements and functionality. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers. All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements. What we are looking for 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 0 years experience with Masters in related field. Manage initiatives that focus on driving new projects, processes improvements, forecasting, modeling and simulation, and customer experience enhancements. Own end to end projects from initial recommendation through implementation/execution and assurance of successful operational impact. Generate 2D/3D models of parts and assemblies to ensure technical accuracy and assist in the development of prototypes by providing accurate and detailed design documentation for fabrication and assembly. Create, check and maintain design documentation for engineering labs. This includes preliminary conceptual design evolving to released design drawings. Interpret engineering models and drawings. Ability to work independently and coordinate project work with little to no supervision. Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, excellent written, and oral communication skills. Meet project travel requirements (approximately 10% of projects require travel). Competence in MS Office and related software/programs. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Requirements 5 years relevant experience with Associates in related field, or 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 1 years' experience with Masters in related field. Bachelors of Science degree (or higher) in a field related to Data Analytics. 5 years relevant work experience dealing with process improvement, management consulting or data analytics. Advanced proficient in creating and managing drawings and models using programs such as Adobe, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Visio and Project. Proficient in writing detailed technical substantiation analysis, reports, and briefings. Extensive experience with geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with additive/subtractive manufacturing. Experience with Military or Commercial Aviation Maintenance. Physical Requirements Office, industrial. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
