Job Description:

Airbus UpNext Spain has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to contribute to the evaluation of an innovative more electric architecture for aircraft non propulsive energy (NPE).

The Project Management Leader position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain.

It consists of a mission on an estimated three-year long project, starting ASAP.

 

Missions:

As the Project Management Leader for the project, you will be passionate and impatient about putting methods and processes in place to ease the team work and you are the type of person who thinks about “how things can be done” rather than “if they can be done”.

You will lead the PM team and help develop project management methodologies which are flexible, and unencumbered by process. You will also deal with a diverse team of performers, consisting of partners from industry and academia, start-ups and established leaders, existing Airbus talent and new recruits.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Building the Project Management Plan and establishing the PM governance principles for the project, balancing speed and effectiveness.

Accountability for all Project Management activities within the team including budgeting, planning, risk management, contracting, supplier management, etc. 

Accountability for applying and managing public funding in order to maximise the project revenue whilst maintaining agility.

Leading the small PM team 

Coordinating several technical and non-technical teams to achieve the committed project milestones.

Tracking programme progress and provide reports and visibility of potential issues to allow for early mitigation and data-driven decisions

What you bring

Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager with a track record of managing complex projects within the aerospace industry or other similar industries.

Educated to degree level in any Engineering discipline

First class influencing and presentation skills are required as this is a high visibility role

Practical problem solving skills as well as autonomy and initiative will be expected

Negotiation level in English is required.
