We have a challenging opportunity for a Supervisor, Air Courier based out of our JFK Airport location in NY. Pay Range: $28.85-$33.65 Job Summary: The Supervisor, Air Courier is responsible for coordination & process supervision aspects of the courier operation to ensure proper routing and manifesting of inbound and outbound shipments. This position functions in an armed environment. This position requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers and in armored vehicles in transit, as well as the safety of persons on the premises of Brink's and its customers, including armored vehicles. The position requires Managing of Ground employees that are assigned to the airport operation. Managing 5 to 8 people Key Responsibilities: + Partner with gateway team to coordinate the bookings for shipments. + Investigate and remedy problems in preparation for export or ground operation. + Assist in the oversight of armed crews performing required functions at the airport including the management of tasks and performance of related duties. + Partner with fellow Supvr Air Courier, Dispatch and Route Supervisors so as to ensure seamless handovers during 24/7 operations. + Promptly respond to vendor, customer or affiliate’s concerns diplomatically, partnering with appropriate department contacts for resolution. + Supervise and coordinate both human and capital resources once assigned to airport property. + Supervise airport Messengers and Drivers and route according to airline needs. + Establish and maintain field level relationships with airline personnel. + Cross-train for additional BGS positions and fill in as needed. + Coordinating trainings including but not limited to: TSA, driver renewal, OSHA and firearms training. + Perform daily data entry & reconciliations in all Microsoft office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. + Other projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: + Be at least 21 years of age. + Minimum 6 months of airport (both import & export) operations experience. + Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements. + Satisfy all applicable JFK airport requirements. + A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements. + A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses. + Able to operate a forklift. + Able to lift at least 70 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: + Good basic math skills. + Prior experience in the air transportation industry. + Knowledge of freight forwarding. + Able to work weekends, holidays and/or extended hours.
