The AI Data Risk Manager is part of the internal Global Data Risk Management team at EY, responsible for ensuring all EY information is protected throughout its lifecycle whilst enabling continued innovation as part of our strategic ambitions. The AI Data Risk Manager is an experienced data protection professional, with a passion for emerging technology and an understanding of the impact of AI to data risk. Confident in collaborating across multi-function teams to provide specialist advice on data risk across the lifecycle of AI development, deployment and utilisation.
Key responsibilities
Take a leading role in the development of governance approaches for data risk in AI across EY, including Policy and Standards, assessment and monitoring of risk, proactive risk mitigation strategies and development of training and engagement approaches. Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise within the global data risk management team AI-related topics, and represent data risk considerations across the AI community. Act as the primary point of contact for data risk matters in the development, utilisation and governance of AI systems within EY, liaising with internal stakeholders such as AI developers, data owners, Data Privacy teams, GCO, and Risk Management. Lead the work of the AI Data Risk team to evaluate internal AI development for data risk, providing guidance to deliver data protection by design early in the lifecycle of AI proposals. Manage the response to emerging AI data risks, such as data oversharing and data reuse, and take a leading role in the design of new risk mitigation strategies. Create and maintain strong communication, engagement, awareness and training materials to support the business in understanding the data risk in AI, including strategies to develop the understanding of data risk in AI across senior stakeholders and business leaders. Monitor and analyse the external environment for emerging AI regulatory topics and trends, and provide insights and updates to the Global Data Risk Management team and the business. Support the continued development and improvement of the Global Data Risk management framework, policies, standards, and tools, with a focus on AI data risk.
Qualifications and experience
A Data Protection professional, with at least 5 years of experience in data protection, data risk management, or a related field, preferably in a global organisation or a professional services firm. Experience in or exposure to AI development, utilisation, or governance, alongside an appetite for continued learning in emerging technology. Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, such as the GDPR, and their implications for AI. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess data risk and provide practical solutions. Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. What we offer The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $111,100 to $207,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $133,300 to $236,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
