Job Summary
Fire Fighters are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires, preventing and mitigating fire hazards, and responding to emergencies that require specialized firefighting techniques. The position requires using various firefighting equipment such as pumps, foam generators, and nozzles to combat fires. Fire Fighters work in high-risk environments, utilizing special protective gear when dealing with poisonous gases, radioactive materials, and hazardous biological substances. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining and inspecting firefighting equipment to ensure readiness and safety. The role involves driving emergency vehicles to fire scenes and operating tools and machinery to ensure effective firefighting operations.

Roles and Responsibilities
Drive firefighting vehicles to emergency scenes, adhering to predetermined or adjusted routes.
Operate and maintain pumps, foam generators, boom, ground sweep nozzles, and other firefighting equipment.
Wear and operate special protective gear, including for toxic, hazardous, and radioactive material situations.
Perform regular equipment checks and daily preventive maintenance, including oil changes, packing replacements in pumps, and draining and flushing tanks.
Work with hazardous materials and biological agents during fire suppression, ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed.
Respond to various emergencies beyond fires, such as hazardous material spills, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
Engage in physical rescue operations, including extricating victims from hazardous situations.
Ensure the fire station and all firefighting equipment are properly maintained, clean, and ready for use.
Assist in fire prevention education programs and community outreach.
Collaborate with other emergency responders in multi-agency operations.
Basic Qualifications
Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certification.
Fire Fighter I and II certification.
Airport Fire Fighter certification.
Ability to drive emergency vehicles safely under high-pressure situations.
Ability to work in physically demanding and dangerous environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in advanced firefighting techniques or specialized equipment use.
Experience in operating large-scale firefighting apparatus or aerial firefighting tools.
Knowledge of incident command systems and firefighting strategy planning.
