Position Information
We are seeking an Agricultural Research Worker, under supervision, supports research or teaching laboratories, farms, or ranches by performing specialized tasks at the AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas (https://dallas.tamu.edu/about/) .
Responsibilities:
• Waters, fertilizes, trims, removes weeds, etc. to maintain genetic integrity and health of several turfgrass species in greenhouses. • Clonally propagates and disposes of plant material. • Assists with weekend watering. • Assists with arranging field plot plans and early morning field plantings. • Packs and ships plant material as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.• One year of related experience.• Knowledge of agricultural field research or laboratory work.• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements:• Must be able to lift or move moderate loads such as 35 pounds, stand, crouch, bend over, or tolerate other uncomfortable positions for short or long periods of time.• Must be able to tolerate outdoor and indoor (greenhouse) conditions.
What You Need to Know
Salary: This is an hourly paid position. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
