Battelle’s Environment and Agriculture (E&A) Business Unit is currently seeking an Agricultural Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This position is 100% onsite located in West Jefferson, OH.
Responsibilities Execution of test protocols/standard operating procedures to assess the performance of crop protection mixtures/formulations Preparation of mixtures/formulations, soil samples, filter samples, calibration samples/blanks Operation of spray droplet measurement systemsInspection, testing, documentation and maintenance of laboratory equipment Assembly and operation of lab equipment including: pipetting devices, measuring syringes, moisture analyzers, etc. Following established safety guidelines to safely work with hazardous materialsPerformance of calculations in support of laboratory workPreparation of data reports using Microsoft Word and ExcelKey Qualifications Must be currently pursuing bachelor’s or master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Plant Science, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, or a related field of studyMust have at least two years of college coursework completed Ability to understand and follow written proceduresGood oral and written communication skillsThe ability to work in a team environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office softwareSufficiently medically fit to work in the laboratory to perform assigned duties including the ability to wear personal protection equipment (PPE), lift up to 50 pounds, and work in the proximity of toxic chemicalsMust be U.S. Citizen Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with crop protection products and associated application equipment and systemsPreparing You for Career Success
