Agile Scrum Master
Overview We are seeking a Scrum Master to support our agile development team for a project with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This role requires demonstrated education and expertise in Agile development methodology. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos Manage and optimize the use of Agile management tools, particularly Atlassian JIRA and Confluence Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles and practices Remove obstacles and foster a productive team environment Collaborate with the Product Owner Proxy and development team to maintain backlog and prioritize work Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders Assist in tracking and reporting project progress Support continuous improvement of Agile processes Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated education and expertise in Agile development methodology 5-7 years of experience in Scrum Master or similar Agile leadership roles Proficiency with Agile management tools, especially Atlassian JIRA and Confluence Familiarity with development and testing tools (e.g., Jenkins, Selenium) Understanding of web technologies and frameworks used in the project Strong communication and facilitation skills Ability to work effectively in a remote environment Experience in government contracting environments is a plus EPA background investigation eligible Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development lifecycle Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion) Basic understanding of web technologies (e.g., Java, JSP, HTML/CSS, XML) Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment practices Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related technical field.
