As a Senior Scrum Master or Agile Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile software development lifecycle processes empowering your squad to deliver high-quality products efficiently. You will guide the squad through the Scrum methodology, adhering to Agile principles, and fostering a collaborative and self-organizing environment. Your primary focus will be on removing impediments, promoting continuous improvement, and enabling the team to achieve its sprint goals.
In this role, you will provide effective and regular weekly communication to stakeholders on status of sprint deliverables, be proactive in highlighting risks/impediments and critical dependencies early in the lifecycle with prompt escalation to senior management so it can be addressed in a timely manner. In addition, there will be heaving cross-team collaboration which involves guiding other scrum masters across other products to bring the overall project plan together to meet timelines
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives).Coach and mentor the team on Agile principles, values, and practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.Remove obstacles or blockers that hinder the squad’s progress and escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and other teams to align priorities, dependencies, and expectations.Shield the team from external distractions and interruptions to enable focused and uninterrupted work during sprints.Monitor team dynamics and intervene when necessary to address conflicts, promote collaboration, and ensure a positive team environment.Facilitate effective communication within the team and across stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals and progress.Track and report key Agile metrics (velocity and burndown charts) to monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and organization, implementing Agile best practices.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging practices, and new tools/frameworks related to Agile and Scrum, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.Strong proficiency with use of Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira is required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)Minimum of 15 years of experience enforcing Agile methodologiesCertified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification (e.g., PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master) is highly desirable.Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software development projects, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Deep understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework, with practical experience implementing Agile methodologies.Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to foster open communication and collaboration within the team.Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, with a focus on servant leadership and empowerment.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a rapidly evolving business and technology landscape.Proficiency in Agile project management tools (Azure DevOps., Jira) and collaboration platforms.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with scaling Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum of Scrums, LeSS, SAFe) in large enterprise environments.Familiarity with software development practices and technologies (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, cloud computing).Knowledge of lean principles and practices, with experience applying lean thinking to Agile software development.Experience with Agile coaching, training, or mentoring roles, guiding teams and organizations through Agile transformations.Understanding of Agile metrics and KPIs, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights for improvement.
